Vehicle Requirements

  • Cars and Commercial Vehicles must be up to 3.5 tonnes.
  • The minimum value for Cars and Vans is £1, subject to age restrictions.
  • The maximum value for Cars and Vans is £65,000.
  • The vehicle should be used for Social, Domestic, and Pleasure purposes, or Social, Domestic, and Pleasure plus Commercial use only.
  • The vehicle must be registered in the UK.
  • Foreign use of the vehicle is not permitted.
  • The vehicle should not be imported or left-hand drive and not modified (except for factory-fitted extras, modifications for a disabled driver or passenger, or LPG conversions).
  • It should have no more than 7 seats (or no more than 5 seats if it’s a commercial vehicle).
  • The vehicle must have a valid MOT (if required), not be declared as SORN with DVLA, and not have been seized by the police.

  • For a Private Car, the driver should be aged between 18 to 75.
  • For a Commercial Vehicle, the driver should be aged between 19 to 75.
  • The driver must have a current permanent address as stated in the application.
  • They should not have been refused insurance or had a policy cancelled or voided.
  • They should not have a driving ban in the last 60 months.
  • The driver should not have any conviction for a criminal offence or any possible prosecution pending.
