Are Toyotas cheap to insure?
Yes — reliability keeps claims low, parts are plentiful, and the popular models (Aygo group ~3, Yaris ~5–16, Corolla ~12–22) all sit in friendly territory. GR performance models are the deliberate exception.
Does hybrid make Toyota insurance more expensive?
Marginally — hybrid systems add repair complexity, so a Yaris Hybrid sits a group or two above where a pure-petrol equivalent would. It's far less of a step than full EVs carry, and fuel savings dwarf it.
What about catalytic converter theft on older Toyota hybrids?
A real, insurer-recognised pattern on ~2004–2018 Prius/Auris/RAV4 hybrids.
